Below you will find basic information about the environments supported by Cortado Corporate Server 5.5. For technical details, particularly those pertaining to the installation and configuration of the software, please see the manuals »

Architecture

Cortado Corporate Server consists of a server component, located behind the company's firewall, and a client component on smartphones and tablets. The open architecture can be flexibly expanded and supports all available file types, storage media, and various e-mailing programs.

Scenarios		Environments without BlackBerry Enterprise Server In environments with iOS, Android, or BlackBerry devices that use a BIS service, the mobile devices connect to the Cortado Corporate Server directly. The communication between the clients and the Corporate Server is carried out over a secure SSL connection.		Environments with BlackBerry Enterprise Server If BlackBerrys are used that connect through the BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES), the Cortado Corporate Server stays behind the BES as does the mail server. The communication between the clients and the Corporate Server is carried out over the secure MDS channel.

User rights management
(AD Integration)

Cortado Corporate Server uses Active Directory for accessing the file system without reassigning user rights. It is also possible to connect to a Novell eDirectory.

Required operating system:

Windows Server 2008 R2

Note! Installation has to be carried out on an English language OS, otherwise, use of Cortado Corporate Server may be limited.

Supported mobile devices

Apple iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iOS 4.2 or higher
BlackBerry smartphones with firmware version 5.0 or higher
Android devices with Android 2.0 or higher

Supported e-mail systems

Deploy Cortado Corporate Server in environments with iPad, iPhone and Android devices independent of e-mail service.

In BlackBerry environments, one of the following e-mail systems is required:

Microsoft^® Exchange^®
IBM Lotus^® Notes^®
Novell GroupWise^®

For BlackBerry smartphones, the communication between the Cortado software and the e-mail systems occurs via your choice of SMTP or MAPI and via Mail Forward for iPhones and Android smartphones.

Fax and Print server

The Windows fax service is used for faxing documents with no other fax server necessary. For printing, Cortado Corporate Server supports all Windows-compatible printers.

BlackBerry Enterprise Server

BlackBerry BES environment when using BlackBerry smartphones:

BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 4.1 or higher.
