The Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg Association for Sanitation, Heating, and Air Conditioning (FV SHK BW) represents the interests of numerous SHK companies across the state. Its 23 employees are dedicated to technical consulting, further training, and political representation. Four of them use company smartphones \u2013 both Android and iOS devices.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Why a Mobile Device Management (MDM) System?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since company devices are also permitted for private use, an MDM solution was required to safeguard business data.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For Tobias B\u00fchner, Head of Education, Organization, and Membership, it was essential to clearly separate business and private use of smartphones with secure containers, while centrally enforcing data protection GDPR-compliant security settings. Mr. B\u00fchner emphasized: <\/span>\u201cIn an emergency, it must be possible to wipe the device remotely.\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When selecting an MDM, his key criteria were the ability to set it up independently, a fair pricing model, and full compliance with GDPR security guidelines.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One challenge was integrating iPhones into Apple Business Manager for the first time, as this platform requires specific procedures and initially seemed to involve additional costs of around \u20ac500 through Telekom. According to Tobias B\u00fchner, Cortado MDM\u2019s introduction benefits all parties: <\/span>\u201cEmployees can rest assured that they can also use the devices privately without issues. And IT appreciates that it is impossible to bypass security measures, passwords, restrictions, or app policies for the business environment.\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The association especially values the automatic app rollout combined with enforced security policies and user-specific configuration. For IT, this translates into reliability and maximum protection of business data.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
