According to a survey published in July 2021 by the industry association Bitkom, four out of ten people have already lost their smartphone. 15 percent have had their device stolen at least once, and 27 percent have lost it at least once.

What is inconvenient with lost private smartphones can quickly become a serious security problem with corporate devices. Any unauthorized person who gets hold of the device can under certain circumstances access corporate data. This should be prevented at all costs.

Many employees work on the move and use their smartphones and tablets to access company resources. If this device is lost – either through theft or carelessness – there is a risk that, in addition to the hardware, important company data could also fall into the wrong hands.

Our checklist gives you 21 valuable pieces of advice on how to protect your data. In addition to measures which can be implemented via a mobile device management system, there are also other helpful protective measures.

Important: Take appropriate measures in good time. Once a device loss has occurred, you need to take action quickly. And not all measures can still take effect then.

Don’t wait until it’s too late! Use the tips in our checklist and face the loss of a corporate smartphone calmly.
