Now available: Cortado also integrates iPhones into corporate IT

Our new Cortado Corporate Server 4.0 2nd Edition provides cross-platform support for BlackBerry smartphones and now also iPhones, transforming them into complete mobile desktops. With the Virtual Desktop Processes technology, the devices can be seamlessly integrated into corporate IT.
Many smartphone solution developers and providers try to bring the desktop to the smartphone. However, they fail to adequately display the desktop on small smartphone screens, making the view uncomfortable, leading to user rejection. We have taken a completely different approach with the Virtual Desktop Processes technology in our Cortado Corporate Server enterprise solution. The new version, which is now available for iPhones, virtualizes not the desktop, but the features that are actually necessary for work. Cortado Corporate Server enables smartphones to access the corporate network and view files as well as manage, print, fax, scan, copy and convert them to PDF. Additionally, database queries can be made. All these features are configured to the device and its display. The required processes run in the background on the Cortado Corporate Server.
Cortado Corporate Server 4.0 2nd Edition costs EUR 795 for 5 users (named users) including 12 months update service, each extra user license costs EUR 97. Cortado customers with a valid update subscription receive the new version free of charge. Cortado Corporate Server is available from

The next platform that we plan to support is the Android operating system, for example Google’s Nexus One. A new version of the Cortado Corporate Server for this platform is planed during 2010.
For individual users, part of the Virtual Desktop Process technology is available for free with Cortado Workplace, a hosted online service for iPhone and BlackBerry smartphones.
