  • Connect your Workplace storage as a cloud drive to your PC or Mac with just a few clicks and with no installation of software necessary. How it works for PC » | Mac »

  • Alternatively, with the Cortado Web Explorer you can conveniently access your Workplace account from any computer. Login at: www.cortado.com/myworkplace
    Please make sure, that is when sending documents to your Cortado account, the sender is your registered Workplace e-mail address. Otherwise the attachment cannot be matched to your Workplace account.

 


Cortado Workplace on your BlackBerry

Start application

  • Following successful installation, you will find the CORTADO EXPLORER application in your smartphone main menu.

  • Open the CORTADO EXPLORER via its application icon and accept the license agreement . When you open Cortado Workplace for the first time, you will be prompted to register.

  • In E-Mail, the e-mail address appears for which an e-mail account was created on your BlackBerry. If you want to register with a different e-mail address, then click on the e-mail field and select "Enter Manually". Then enter the desired e-mail address.

  • After you registered successfully you will receive a welcome with your login credentials. Please read the e‑mail instructions carefully.

Note! When you first connect with Cortado Explorer, a security question is asked. Click on VIEW. All listed options must be set to ALLOW.

Multiple device support

  • You can use the same Cortado account on different devices.

  • To do so, after opening the Cortado Explorer, select the icon in the bottom right of the display.

  • Here you can either use the default e-mail address or "Enter Manually" another e-mail address.

  • Then, enter your password to register. Save the password if you do not want to re-enter it each time you use CORTADO WORKPLACE.

Accessing files and folders 

  • After opening Cortado Explorer a list of directories is displayed:

    LOCAL DRIVE: Use this directory when you want to edit, print, or fax files stored locally on your BlackBerry smartphone. 

    CORTADO WORKPLACE: Use this directory to access files and folders saved in your personal password-protected online storage. You can upload files to the directory via a web browser. You can also link the Cortado Workplace directory to your PC » or Mac » via WebDAV or copy files to there from your "Local Drive" directory.

    FAVORITES: Here you can add all those folders to which you want to be able to navigate directly.

  • To access the subfolders of a directory, click the menu key and select the option EXPAND.

  • Select the option OPEN to display all files located in a folder.

Managing files and folders

  • When in a directory, click the Menu key, to create a new folder in the directory, delete or rename it or add it to your favorites.

  • Select a file, then click on the menu key to open1, rename or delete it.

  • In the menu, tap on View to create a preview of the file. Even if you do not have the relevant application installed on your device, this feature still lets you view the first page of each file.

File functions

  • Cutting or copying files: Select a file, then click on the menu key. Select copy or cut.

  • Pasting files: Navigate to the required directory and select paste.

Printing files


Select a file you want to print and click PRINT in the menu. You can then choose the following options:

  • ADD NEW WI-FI PRINTER:
    Use this option to print with WiFi printers.

    After you have selected the WiFi option, all printers that are available in your WiFi are displayed.2 Alternatively, you can manually enter the IP address of a desired printer.

    Then choose the manufacturer and then the respective driver.

  • ADD NEW BLUETOOTH PRINTER:
    This allows you to use Bluetooth printers.

Sending documents via e-mail

  • Select the document you want to send and click SEND AS E-MAIL.

  • Use the option SEND TO ME to receive the file as an e-mail attachment on your mobile device.

  • Send the file to another receiver by entering their e-mail address manually, or select from either your locally saved contacts or from a global address book search.

E-mail functions

  • Open your e-mail program, choose an e-mail. You now can use the following options:

    PRINT: Send mailtext (text or HTML e-mails) or an attachment to a printer. See Printing files »

    SAVE AS: File received e-mails or attachments on your Cortado Workplace directory.

Additional Cortado settings


In the main menu of your device, select OPTIONS > CORTADO CLIENT or in the open Cortado Explorer, click the menu button and then select SETTINGS. The following options are then available:
  • Workplace: Here you can make the following settings:

    PRINTER FAVORITES: Here all Wi-Fi and Bluetooth printers stored during the printing process as favorites are displayed. Here you can delete these favorites. Additionally, you can add printers or connect with other printer types (drivers).

    CORTADO OPTIONS: Here, for a small fee, you can order Workplace Premium services. These comprise:
    • Expansion of the online storage to 10 GB.
    • Export of files (wie .doc, .docx, .xls, .ppt, .odt and others) to .pdf format and/or compressed in .zip format.
    • Sending files by fax.


    RESET ALL: This option resets the Cortado application. This deletes the registration data and your stored password.

    RESET PASSWORD: Choose this option to delete the saved password.

  • File: Here you can decide what is included in the info line of your files (name, date, size, etc.).

  • Info: Here you can find information about the event log, the version and the license agreement.

1 To open a file, the relevant application that supports that file type must be installed on your device. If, for example you want to open a Word file you require an application such as Documents To Go on your device.
2 The automatic printer search in a WLAN is available for BlackBerry OS 6.0 and higher. For older firmware versions, the printer's IP address must be entered manually.
